Created to recognize an individual who has performed exemplary service encouraging students and/or mentoring young engineers to advance careers in the areas of RF/Microwave and/or Wireless Engineering. Rudolf E. Henning joined the University of South Florida in 1970. During his USF career Professor Henning was a Distinguished University Professor, an acting chair of the Electrical Engineering Dept. and also served as Associate Dean of the college from 1972-1982. Prior to USF, he headed up the Engineering Sciences Dept. at the Naval Electronics Laboratory Center in San Diego. He was a mentor to many students, faculty, and young engineers throughout his long industry and academic careers. Dr. Henning was born in Hamburg, Germany, and received his BS, MS and D. of Eng Sci in electrical engineering from Columbia University, where he was also a cellist in the university orchestra...
